The Wiki Team

While a robust, vibrant wiki requires the participation of the whole community, following are several people who had a heavier-than-average hand contributing content, structure, and other support.

Matt Aimonetti, Adviser

A member of The Rails Activists, Matt took point on recruiting volunteers; steering discussions on format, structure, platform, and content; and resolving the few rare conflicts of opinion that arose. He is a self-described “Rails veteran, serious Ruby addict, Merb core team member and now Rails Team member.” Matt can be reached by email, at his blog, or via his Twitter stream. He is an independent consultant and owns m|a consulting.

Kosmas Chatzimichalis

Kosmas is an independent web developer working in the UK. He contributed a great deal of documentation to the wiki, in particular the sections on gems and plugins. You can find him at his blog.

Dan Croak

Dan Croak is a web developer and trainer for thoughtbot, and contributor to several open-source projects. He was instrumental in fleshing out much of the testing section of the current wiki. Dan can be reached via his weblog, his Twitter stream, or email.

Josh Goebel (Dreamer3)

Josh Goebel is an independent Rails developer and the author of Pastie and co-author of Beast. He seems to like updating wiki pages for grammar, clarity, and structure. Josh can be reached via his blog, Twitter, on Freenode with the nick Dreamer3, or by e-mail.

Dana Jones

Dana is an independent web developer and owner of Sterling Rose Design. She participated in discussions about both structure and content for the wiki project, and has contributed both content and editing. She can be reached via email, in the #rubyonrails IRC channel, on her blog, or at her Twitter stream.

Tom Karlo

Tom was key in helping drive the discussion of platform and objectives of the new Rails wiki project. He also contributed a signficant amount of documentation for the wiki. You can find him at his Twitter stream or his blog.

Gregg Pollack

Another member of The Rails Activists, Gregg has provided support in countless ways to the Ruby on Rails community. For this specific effort, Gregg wrote the informative First Rails App Walkthrough document. Gregg is a developer and co-owner of Rails Envy. You can find him through his blog, his Twitter stream, and email.

John Yerhot

John is a developer with Follett Digital Resources. He was instrumental in getting the Git page off the ground, and contributed to other areas of the wiki documentation. You can find him via his blog, Twitter, or his email.

Translators

One of the main goals of the new wiki project was to make it accessible and useful to as many developers across the globe as possible. To this end, the team of translators have been invaluable, taking a substantial amount of documentation and translating it into everything from Spanish to Japanese to Thai!
