Dave,
I like what I see in the article, and I will admit to being a newbie when it comes to rails. However, I have a few questions that may help others in my predicament. I am developing an application that relies on the use of ini like name/value pairs. Clearly, this is where I should start the application (and the Rails learning process). So I want the user first to establish the type of environment they want to work within through a start-up user interface at the set-up of the application. I like the database model but I was unsure how to access the name/value pairs in the application and in my case I believe they should be in the controller since they will be used to set various user preferences in other controllers. Do you think you could provide additional information on this topic or expand your note with some additional examples. It is the syntax that has me perplexed at this time.
