Ruby on Rails
Global X

The ‘X’ stands for eXtranet. We provide integrated search for government services at local, state, and federal levels in Oz, as well as legal practice management via a product called Open Practice. We’re glomming these things together to do e-conveyancing.

We’re using RoR to build something like a BPMS extranet, and to replace a whole bunch of legacy C CGI and J2EE gunk. We’re also using it to integrate with a large legacy VB6 base for the OP product. RoR gives us a way to work with both our legacies and the numerous different forms of data provider and channel partner API.
